Finsbury Park RFC is a new club based in Finsbury Park which is in the Borough of Haringey but is on the boarders of Islington and Hackney. Rugby is a sport that is unrepresented in this low income disadvantaged area. Finsbury Park RFC wants to provide the local community in the area the opportunity to play rugby, which is currently not provided in the area, outside of the school curriculum.
Finsbury Park RFC wants to become a fully established community sports club giving the community a club to be proud of. Finsbury Park wants to be able to provide rugby to all ages and any gender. Finsbury Park RFC wants to be able to provide rugby to the community by going into schools to promote and help teach the game of rugby. The club wants the community to be a part of the club either volunteering, supporting or becoming committee members to help with the clubs direction in how as a club we can make a difference to our community ad tackle some of the key problems in the community such as crime, gang culture, unemployment, anti-social behaviour etc... Finsbury Park RFC wants to be a safe place for the local community to come to play rugby, socialise and keep fit.
